I use a catalyzed urethane finish for two reasons. First, it is very hard and more scratch resistant than traditional lacquer. Second, it is very resistant to chemicals, for instance insect repellent. The ingredient in insect repellent melts traditional lacquer. My finish is almost completely sweat proof.
